Daphne – Useful Task Manager Replacement
If you were looking for an application that could replace the Windows Task Manager, then I present Daphne to you. This little application, which will stay in the system tray until it is called out, will come in handy when you want to kill a windows process. You can do this in one of two ways.
You can click the Daphne icon from the system tray -> then select the process you want to kill -> right click the process and click Kill. If you don’t want to kill the process right away, you can click Kill at and select a time and date when you want the process to be killed.
Or you can kill a process by right clicking the Daphne system tray icon -> select Kill all by name -> enter the name of the process you want to kill.
There are other things you can do by right clicking the Daphne icon in the system tray:
- You can run a process
- You can close windows by name
- You can schedule a system shutdown, restart of log off
- You can view CPU usage
- You can view a list of all installed applications
Here are the technical details about Daphne you may want to know about:
Download – the download weighs in at close to 1.5MB. This means it should take very little time to get Daphne off the web and onto your computer. To my mind, not having to wait a long time for a download to complete is always nice.
Installation – installing Daphne on your Windows-powered computer should take little time as well. The whole installation process is straightforward and should go along smoothly.
Limitations – there are no limitations. You can use Daphne for as long as you want without paying a dime in return since the application is freeware.

Cons
